A Guide to the Index
The 2015 U.S. Clean Tech Leadership Index ranks the 50 U.S. states and 50 largest metro areas based on more than 100 wide-varying factors documenting presence of minimal-pollution technologies including energy generation and usage. The CTL Metro Index’s indicators are broken into four broad areas: Green Buildings; Advanced Transportation; Clean Energy and Carbon Management; and Clean-tech Investment, Innovation and Workforce. Among the handful of sub-categories underlying metro Green Buildings scores are LEED-certified and Energy Star-qualifying projects and square footage per capita.
