Wampold Starts Work On New Hotel in Downtown Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge is getting a new hotel. According to The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, local real estate developer Mike Wampold has finally broken ground on the redevelopment of the 12-story the old Louisiana National Bank Building at 150 N. Third St., in the city’s downtown. He plans to turn the 88-year-old building into a 146-room hotel.

Two Hospitals to Build New Cancer Center In Baton Rouge

Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center has once more joined forces with Woman’s Hospital in the battle against cancer. The two hospitals announced last week that they are teaming up to build a new cancer center in Baton Rouge and establish a new system of care that will promote a higher degree of physician collaboration, coordination and disease management for patients with breast and gynecologic cancers.
