Movie Tavern is coming to Baton Rouge. The dine-in cinema plans to open not one but two locations in the Capital City this year.

The fist Movie Tavern opened in Louisiana last summer. Located in Covington in the New Orleans metropolitan area, it contains eight screens and can accommodate up to 720 guests at one time. Baton Rouge’s first Movie Tavern will have 10 screens, including some with 3-D capability. It will also feature luxury recliners and full-service in-theater dining.

The Times Picayune reports that Southern Theaters, the parent company of Movie Tavern, expects to open the first Baton Rouge location during this summer. It will be located in the former Citiplace theater, which closed last year. Movie Tavern started work on the 45,193-square-foot complex in January, when it took control of it. The cost of the project was $6 million, according to The Advocate.

Baton Rouge’s second Movie Theater is scheduled to open by the end of fall. It will be located in the $350 million 1.2 million-square-foot Juban Crossing. This location will be larger than the first. It will have 46,000 square feet of space and 11 screens, and will be able  to accommodate 1,089 people.
