Baton Rouge is getting two more assisted-living facilities. This month, two out-of-state developers announced their plans to start work on two such projects in the area.

According to Senior Housing News, Avanti Senior Living, a Woodlands, Texas-based company, intends to invest $20 million and build the Avanti at Highland. This luxury assisted living facility will be located within a master-planned community near the Louisiana Country Club and Baton Rouge’s premier shopping area. It will have 77,000 square feet of space and provide 50 assisted living and 40 memory care suites.

Avanti Senior Living also plans to build a similar community in Lafayette. It will be called Avanti at Lafayette. The project will cost $15 million.

The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report also announced that Cardinal Ventures, of Ridgeland, Miss., plans to build an upscale senior living development within The Grove mixed-use development east of the Mall of Louisiana. The Blake at The Grove, as the project is called, will be constructed on an 8.5-acre site. It will feature 213 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care, and many amenities, including a community center, pool and fitness center.

The Blake at The Grove will be Cardinal’s first project in Baton Rouge. The company filed a final development plan with the local Planning Commission earlier this month. It will be discussed at the commission’s meeting on June 15.
