The Coves at Chesapeake townhome community in Glen Burnie is the latest addition to the list of large, Greater Baltimore multifamily assets that changed hands this year. The property traded for $76.25 million.

Forest City-New East Baltimore Partnership, a partnership between Forest City Enterprises, Inc. and Presidential Partners LLC, is building a new innovation hub for life sciences in East Baltimore, just north of the Johns Hopkins medical campus. The project is called 1812 Ashland Avenue and is expected to cost $65.6 million.

One of the largest architecture and engineering firms in the Greater Baltimore area is moving its headquarters to Hunt Valley. Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson will relocate and consolidate its operations into a new building, to be built at 40 Wight Avenue.

BECO Management, Inc., a Rockville-based commercial real estate company, has recently announced the signing of a new tenant at the BECO Towers, in Owings Mills. Since January 1, the company has leased more than 52,000 square feet of space at the property, reducing the total vacancy by 50 percent.

Last week, St. John Properties, Inc. announced the start of construction on three new speculative buildings at the Baltimore Crossroads mixed-use business community, in the White Marsh section of Baltimore County. The properties will add approximately 89,000 square feet of space.

Last week, Saint Agnes Hospital celebrated the groundbreaking of a new, four-story apartment community at the future site of the 32-acre Gibbons Commons mixed-use development. The apartment complex is developed in partnership with Bon Secours Baltimore Health System.

An Illinois-based investor has purchased the New Town Village Center in Owings Mills. The property changed hands just months after it was placed on the market.

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is not leaving Baltimore County and the state of Maryland. At the end of April, the company announced that it has selected the site for its new headquarters. The facility will be located at 99 Shawan Road in Hunt Valley.

At the start of the year, Castle Lanterra Properties entered the Baltimore market with the purchase of the apartment building at 222 E. Saratoga Street from RWN Development Inc., for $13.5 million. At that time, the New York-based company said it planned to improve the property. Now, it has revealed more details about the project.

U.S. Lacrosse has finally started work this month on its new national headquarters complex. The project is being developed in Sparks, a community in Baltimore County. It will cost $15 million.
