MCR Development, one of the largest hotel owner-operators in the country, has completed the renovation of a Greater Baltimore area hotel in April. The TownePlace Suites by Marriott Arundel Mills BWI Airport is now ready to receive guests.

Wood Partners, LLC is bringing 230 much-needed apartments to downtown Columbia. The Atlanta-based real estate company said it will break ground this month on a new mixed-use community in the area. Called Alta Wilde Lake, it will be a key component of the redevelopment at Wilde Lake Village Center.

Developers plan to start work on two new office projects in Baltimore. Cross Street Partners and Merritt Properties LLC intend to bring almost 140,000 square feet of office space to the region.

Armada Hoffler Properties, Inc. is expanding its Maryland portfolio. The Virginia Beach-based real estate company has recently closed on the acquisition of two grocery anchored retail centers located in Perry Hall and Hagerstown. The total purchase price was $20.2 million.

Agellan Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust is selling one of its properties in Greater Baltimore. The REIT said earlier this month that a third-party purchased has agreed to buy its single-tenant industrial building at 8271 Anderson Court in Odenton. The sale price is approximately $11.3 million.

St. John Properties, Inc. announced on April 8 that its four-story Class ”A” office building at 8135 Maple Lawn Boulevard has earned a LEED Gold certification from the Maryland Chapter of the United States Green Building Council. The property was constructed by St. John Properties in a joint partnership with Greenebaum Enterprises, Inc.

Prologis, Inc. has added another tenant to the the Baltimore Washington Industrial Park, in Jessup. AEROLAB, a custom wind tunnel design and manufacturing company, has signed a lease for 19,155 square feet of space at 8291 Patuxent Range Road, bringing the building’s occupancy to 100 percent.

Just like neighboring Washington, D.C., the city of Baltimore is also doing its best to become greener and healthier. At the end of March, the city has adopted a new Bike Master Plan, which will help it expand its network of biking facilities and become more bicycle-friendly.

Last November, LifeBridge Health announced its plans to acquire the Carroll Hospital Center. A few day ago, members of Carroll County Health Services Corporation, parent company of Carroll Hospital Center, voted to approve the affiliation agreement. With the signing of the final documents, Carroll Hospital Center has now become a subsidiary of LifeBridge.
