A group of local investors has acquired the historic Aurora Inn this month. Led by Dan Bliss, Stephen Mansfield and Matt Lopatin, Aurora Hotel Partners, LLC plans to invest into this well-known fixture in the center of Aurora’s historic district and give it a full makeover.
JBG Breaks Ground on 31-Story Residential Tower in Rosslyn
Earlier this year, at the start of February, the JBG Companies announced it has entered into a joint venture partnership with the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio to develop a 31-story, glass residential tower in Rosslyn, Va. On Wednesday, April 23, the Chevy Chase-based developer officially broke ground on the project.
Armada Hoffler To Construct a 20-Story, Mixed-Use Tower in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor
In a couple of years, Baltimore’s waterfront will be home to a new, mixed-use tower. After a two-year pre-development effort, Harbor Point developer Beatty Development Group, LLC has selected Armada Hoffler Construction Company, a division of Virginia Beach-based Armada Hoffler Properties, for the construction of the tower. The construction contract is worth $165 million.
Armada Hoffler to Redevelop Williamsburg Outlet Mall
Armada Hoffler Properties, Inc., a publicly traded real estate investment trust based in Virginia Beach, has announced last week the newest project in its next generation development pipeline. The company has formed a joint venture with Vistacor LLC. Together they will develop a grocery-anchored shopping center in Williamsburg, Virginia. Armada Hoffler is the majority partner in the joint venture.
Developers Break Ground on Trophy Office Building in Downtown D.C.
The JBG Companies has partnered with ICG Properties and Rittenhouse Partners to develop a new trophy property, meant to enhance Washington’s lower 16th street corridor. On April 22, representatives from the three companies were joined by city officials for the groundbreaking of 900 Sixteenth Street, a new Class A building located just two blocks from the White House.
Capitol Real Estate Development Secures $5M Loan for Housing Development in Congress Heights
After years of bad luck, a residential project looking to bring condominiums and townhouses to Washington, D.C.’s Congress Heights area is finally getting ready to take off. LYNK Capital, LLC has recently closed a $5 million loan for Woodcrest Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Capitol Real Estate Development, LLC, the project’s developer. The loan will be used to finance the construction of Phase 1.

The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, the largest enclosed shopping mall in Arlington, is getting a makeover. Simon Property Group, Inc., the property’s owner, announced on April 16 its plans to renovate and expand the upscale shopping mall.
