Historic Crosley Building Could Get New Life as Apartments
Throughout it’s long history, the Crosley Building, in Cincinnati’s Camp Washington neighborhood, has seen many things. It witnessed the rise and fall of important American companies and has experienced the same rise and fall itself. But its story is not yet over. An Indianapolis-based developer plans to bring new life to the ten-story, light industrial facility and turn it into apartments.
Marriott Opens $520M Marriott Marquis Washington, DC
Marriott Hotels has recently reached an important milestone. On May 1, the company announced the opening of its 4,000th hotel, the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC. The hotel’s inaugural catered event will be held on May 10, while its formal dedication and grand opening will be held a month later, on June 10.
New Owners for Richmond’s 110-Year-Old Mutual Building, Maritime Square Building in Newport News
One of Richmond’s first high-rise office buildings has recently changed hands. Parmenter Realty Partners has sold the Mutual Building to 909 Main, LLC, an entity associated with Shamin Hotels, for $3,275,000.
Washington Real Estate Investment Trust Buys Downtown Washington, DC, Office Building for $104.5M
Washington Real Estate Investment Trust continues its buying spree in downtown Washington, D.C. The Rockville-based real estate investment trust announced on May 1 it has acquired the office building at 1775 Eye Street, NW, in the city’s Central Business District. The property changed hands for $104.5 million.
Carter, Dawson Co. Launch Work on Banks Project
The Banks project includes residential, office, hotel and retail components and is Cincinnati’s largest single, mixed-use development. After many months of delay, work has finally started, on April 28th, on Phase IIA of the project.

Cleveland is getting ready to say hello to a new skyscraper. On Monday, April 28, ground was broken on the new Hilton Cleveland/Downtown Convention Center Hotel, a massive structure, standing 32 stories tall. Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald and Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson joined Ted Ratcliff, Senior Vice President of Operations for Hilton Worldwide, for the groundbreaking ceremony.

A Baltimore City urban shopping center has recently changed hands. The Alameda Marketplace was acquired recently by Atlantic Realty Companies, for $11,305,000. Continental Realty Corporation was the seller.

Although construction employment increased in most metro areas between March 2013 and March 2014, Maryland’s Bethesda-Rockville-Frederick region lost an important number of jobs.
Redskins’ New Training Complex Wins Award for Project of the Year
