Skanska Invests $56M in Poland
Construction on the first phase of the Nowy Rynek office and retail development started in July 2017 and is slotted for completion in the second quarter of 2019.

Skanska is shelling out $56 million, or SEK 460M, for phase I of Nowy Rynek, a mixed-use development in Poznan, Poland. Construction on the first phase started in July 2017 and is slotted for completion in the second quarter of 2019.Â
Poland’s project growth
Nowy Rynek marks Skanska’s third development in Poznan. The project will feature five buildings in the central business district that will include offices, retail, two underground parking levels, and a new public square that will feature activities for tenants and the community.Â
Phase I will be the construction of a six-story, 269,000-square-foot office building. The property is aiming for LEED Gold certification and will be certified as a “building without barriers” for accessible design that is inclusive for people with disabilities.Â
Outside the Nordics, the company has its European operations in building construction and civil engineering located in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK. Skanska develops commercial properties in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, and residential developments in Prague and Warsaw.
