Scottsdale-based Matrix Medical Network plans to put to good use its recently leased space in Clearwater by hiring at least 150 people.

Matrix Medical Network, a provider of health assessments to members of Medicare Advantage health plans, has recently signed a 20,363-square-foot lease at the Bayview Pavilion in Clearwater. The company plans on opening a marketing outreach center in the 92,225-square-foot office space in 15550 Lightwave Drive. Bayview Pavilion is a three-story, Class A office building serviced by an attached parking garage with 196 covered spaces. Its location—at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and 49th Street N., adjacent to the St. Pete/Clearwater Airport—is within close proximity to restaurants, retail services and hotel accommodations.

Alan Feldshue and Melanie Jackson of Colliers International Tampa Bay represented the landlord, Lightwave Drive L.L.C. Matrix Medical Network was represented by Jarrett Dunaway of Mohr Partners out of Dallas.

“As a company that operates throughout the country, we can locate our call centers virtually anywhere,” said Jose Rodriguez, Matrix’s vice president of business operations. “We selected the Tampa Bay area because we believe the people with the skills and talents we need to be successful are here.”

According to a company release, Matrix was drawn to the Clearwater building by its central location, covered parking, large windows and open floor plans, all conducive to a quality operations center atmosphere. Following its lease, the occupancy of the Bayview Pavilion is now up to 91 percent.

Starting in April 2012, Matrix Medical Network will be taking applications for positions at the new facility, looking for people with interpersonal and phone skills; they will be in charge of explaining the Matrix Medical Network process to primarily elderly plan members and of setting up appointments throughout the country for nurse practitioner visits.
