Encore Capital Management has retained CREC as the exclusive leasing advisor for the retail component of Plantation Walk, a $350 million mixed-use development in Plantation, Fla. The project will encompass approximately 200,000 square feet of retail space as well as office, hotel and residential space.

Plantation Walk is located at 321 N. University Drive, at the site of the former Plantation Fashion Mall. Crews finished demolishing the mall in November 2017. Once completed, the 32-acre development is set to feature 700 luxury apartments, 160,000 square feet of Class A office space, a 263-key Sheraton hotel and two parking garages.

CREC Senior Vice President & Director of Retail Steven Henenfeld and Vice President Rafael Romero will oversee leasing and marketing efforts on behalf of the owner. Plantation Walk is slated to create a pedestrian-friendly community with outdoor seating, walkways, and green spaces in a live-work-play environment that will provide numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options.

“We’re looking for a mix of local flavor and national brands that provide the community with unique, creative and compelling options that have long been lacking,” said CREC President Carol Brooks, in prepared remarks.

Encore began a capital improvement program on the office component of Plantation Walk in late 2017. The Offices at Plantation Walk has been stripped down to its bare shell and is currently undergoing a complete renovation.
