New Mixed-Use Project Proposed for South Boston
Connecticut-based real estate firm Commonwealth Ventures has filed plans with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) for a new mixed-use complex at One Channel Center in South Boston.
$17.4 Million Public Library Branch Breaks Ground in East Boston
Work on a new branch of the Boston Public Library broke ground last week during an official ceremony in the presence of Mayor Thomas M. Menino and other city officials. The state-of-the-art development located in East Boston is one of the 336 improvement projects included in the recently announced five-year Capital Plan, a $1.8 billion initiative that supports initiatives and efforts across the City in the areas of education and youth development, neighborhood stabilization, technology enhancement and economic development.
$300 Million Mixed-Use Development Planned for Roxbury
P-3 Partners, LLC, a collaboration between Elma Lewis Partners, LLC (ELP) and Feldco Boston, LLC (Feldco), recently revealed plans for a 1 million mixed-use development in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, on a vacant plot at the southeast corner of Tremont Street and Whittier Street. The roughly 8-acre parcel is part of Mayor Thomas Menino’s ambitious plan for Roxbury, according to data from the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), which has the final word on the project.
Boston’s Innovation District Adds New Housing Development
The development wave in Boston’s growing Innovation District continues with a $62 million housing project that will take shape at 411 D Street. Last week, the Boston Redevelopment Authority approved a mixed-use complex proposed in January by a joint venture between Cresset Development and Clarion Partners.
Suffolk Construction Completes Phase I of $296 M Baystate Medical Center Expansion
Suffolk Construction recently completed Phase I of the expansion and facility-replacement project at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. The 641,000-square foot new clinical facility required a $296 million investment and it is part of a 15-year master plan designed by Steffian Bradley Architects. When fully finished, the project will be the largest medical facility in Western Massachusetts.
