Chestnut Hill Shopping Center Expands Tenant List with Cinema de Lux

National Amusements announced plans to open a state-of-the-art Cinema de Lux at the former Macy’s site at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, bringing an unparalleled cinema and dining experience to the area. Scheduled for opening in March 2013, the new movie theater will feature a top-class restaurant, premium reserved seating, and high end dining throughout the complex.

The cinema complex (pictured) will be developed at the former Macy’s site in a joint venture with WS Development, which owns and operates the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. Two months ago WS Development entered Phase II of major development at the center which will expand to 406,000 square feet. National Amusements plans to lease around 40,000 square feet of space for its new Cinema de Lux, which will also include a full bar and lounge featuring a menu of specialty foods and innovative signature cocktails.

More businesses expected to lease space at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center were announced by WS Development earlier this month (click here to see the complete lease plan). According to Patch.com, Los Angeles-based frozen yogurt shop Pinkberry will be joining the list of tenants at the redeveloped shopping center in the spring of 2013. Prior to that, New York City-based burger chain Shake Shack announced plans to lease 3,000 square feet at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center which will replace the former Rugged Bear location. In January 2013 The Sports Club/LA is expected to open its first Jewel Box club at the former Macy’s site, where it will occupy 31,000 square feet of the building’s roughly 115,000 square feet of space.
