She has covered the commercial and multifamily real estate industry since 1995, becoming editor-in-chief of Commercial Property Executive (formerly Commercial Property News) in 1998 and editorial director of both CPE and Multi-Housing News in 2016. Economy Watch: Job Creation Off to Slow Start; Personal Income, Mortgage Delinquencies Show Slight Uptick

The U.S. economy created 157,000 jobs in January, but that marked an increase of only 0.1 percentage points. Personal income saw a small movement in anticipation of higher 2013 taxes. Mortgage delinquencies rose, too, but only slightly.

Economy Watch: Pending Home Sales Drop; Durable Goods Up

The National Association of Realtors reported on Monday that its Pending Home Sales Index fell 4.3 percent in December. Meanwhile, durable goods orders jumped 4.6 percent, thanks to orders of military and commercial aircraft.
