Developers Break Ground on Trophy Office Building in Downtown D.C.
The JBG Companies has partnered with ICG Properties and Rittenhouse Partners to develop a new trophy property, meant to enhance Washington’s lower 16th street corridor. On April 22, representatives from the three companies were joined by city officials for the groundbreaking of 900 Sixteenth Street, a new Class A building located just two blocks from the White House.
Capitol Real Estate Development Secures $5M Loan for Housing Development in Congress Heights
After years of bad luck, a residential project looking to bring condominiums and townhouses to Washington, D.C.’s Congress Heights area is finally getting ready to take off. LYNK Capital, LLC has recently closed a $5 million loan for Woodcrest Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Capitol Real Estate Development, LLC, the project’s developer. The loan will be used to finance the construction of Phase 1.
Simon to Renovate, Expand Iconic Fashion Centre at Pentagon City
The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, the largest enclosed shopping mall in Arlington, is getting a makeover. Simon Property Group, Inc., the property’s owner, announced on April 16 its plans to renovate and expand the upscale shopping mall.
Greysteel Tapped to Sell Woodbridge’s Meridian Bay Apartments
The Meridian Bay Apartments, a 23-building garden-style community located in the Northern Virginia suburb of Woodbridge, is looking for new owners. Coastal Properties of Virginia, the current owner, has selected the Greysteel Company’s Mid-Atlantic multifamily investment sales team to sell the property. At the moment, no sale price was announced.
Insight Property Group to Start Work This Fall on $185M Urban Mixed-use Project
Insight Property Group announced last week the acquisition of the H Street Self-Storage Property at 624 H Street NE, in Washington, D.C. The Arlington, Virginia-based multifamily developer plans to turn the site into the home of its new urban, mixed-use luxury project, called The Apollo on H Street. Groundbreaking is scheduled for this fall.
