Rock Falls Wind Project Begins Commercial Operation
Kimberly-Clark Corp. has signed a power purchase agreement at the 154-megawatt wind facility in Oklahoma, which has been under construction since July 2017.

EDF Renewable Energy’s 154-megawatt Rock Falls Wind Project has begun commercial operation. The facility marks EDF RE’s second project in Oklahoma. In 2016, the company completed the Great Western Wind Project that supplies Google with clean energy.
The wind farm is located in Kay and Grant counties, in northern Oklahoma, and consists of various components manufactured in the U.S. Since the start of construction in July 2017, the project has created more than 150 jobs. Kimberly-Clark Corp. has signed a power purchase agreement for 120 megawatts of generation, marking its first utility-scale use of renewable energy.
“We applaud America’s corporate sector and companies like Kimberly-Clark, who through the purchase of wind energy demonstrate leadership in the drive for a low-carbon economy,” EDF RE Executive Vice President Ryan Pfaff said in a prepared statement. “Their commitment allowed Rock Falls to proceed, providing an economic boost to the Oklahoma economy, through new construction and operations jobs, expanded tax base and recurring, long-term income for participating landowners.”
