River City Chosen for Spec Office Development
The Rebkee Co. and developer Serabi are in the early stages of a plan to raze an existing warehouse at 949 Myers St. If plans are approved by the city, a 63,800-square-foot, three-story office building will rise on the site of the former Interbake Foods property.

The Rebkee Co. and Serabi Development revealed plans for a new office project in Richmond, Va. The development team is led by Serabi’s Dan Gecker and Steve Leibovic, who have successfully developed the 180-unit Cookie Factory Lofts. The 63,800-square-foot project is still in the planning phase as it awaits city approvals.
Making Room for Office Space
The project, which would be located at 949 Myers St., presupposes the demolition of the existing Interbake Foods warehouse and the development of the new three-story office property. The prospective asset would be adjacent to the previously announced River City Roll bowling alley and will also be in close vicinity of dining options such as Fat Dragon and En Su Boca. According to Thalhimer officials, the development will incorporate a rooftop terrace and balconies with views of the the Redskins training facility. Additionally, a patio with landscaping and bike racks is planned. Further architectural details would include floor-to-ceiling factory windows, high-end interior finishes and build-outs that act as creative workspaces.
A Gateway to the City
Richmond’s highly sought-after Scott’s Addition area has become a hotspot for Millennials looking for a live-work-play location. “The Boulevard and Scott’s Addition (have) become organically what every large-scale, mixed-use development has tried to achieve and is quickly becoming the new gateway to the city of Richmond,” Jason Guillot, a broker with Thalhimer retained as the exclusive leasing representative for the project, said in a prepared statement.
