Ridge, the industrial development arm of Transwestern Development Co., has acquired 29 acres to build a speculative industrial project in Houston’s Missouri City submarket. The company plans to break ground in May 2018, with the development scheduled for completion in 2019. Transwestern will handle leasing for the property.

Situated at 611 S. Cravens Road, the 477,355-square-foot Southwest Commerce Center will offer 32-foot clear height, 129 dock doors and 58 trailer and 275 parking spaces. The property is within close proximity to Beltway 8 and Highway 90, as well as local Houston attractions including the Galleria, downtown Houston, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Texas Medical Center and Port of Houston. Major logistics and retail tenants in the area include FedEx, Best Buy, Allied Fitting, Bella Fresh, Bimbo Bakeries, Lufkin AUtomation, Men’s Warehouse, Red Wing Shoes, American Tire, Ben E. Keith, CME Wire & Cable, Maintenance Supply and Niagara Water.

“Strategically located along Beltway 8, Southwest Commerce Center is a state-of-the-art distribution building ideal for large regional users,” said Darryl Noon, senior vice president at Transwestern, in a prepared statement. “Houston’s industrial market remains one of the healthiest in the country, fueled by strong population growth and increased port activity.”
