CBRE has arranged a new 18,107-square-foot lease for Cole, Scott & Kissane, a full-service law firm, at Maitland Summit Park, a Class A office park in the Maitland Center submarket of Orlando. The complex consists of four buildings totaling 589,541 square feet.

The new tenant will occupy more than half of the third floor at 1901 Summit Tower Blvd., which will undergo a custom build-out that is planned for completion by the end of 2017. Constructed in 1998, the four-story property encompasses 120,268 square feet and features on-site property management, access-controlled entry and a parking ratio of 4.5 spaces per 1,000 square feet.

Second Maitland Center location

Cole, Scott & Kissane is a civil defense firm in Florida, with approximately 400 attorneys and 11 offices around the state. The law firm currently leases 35,000 square feet at its existing location at 1900 Summit Tower Blvd.

“We’ve outgrown our existing Orlando space and are looking forward to further expanding our Central Florida presence by adding top-notch professionals to our team and continuing to serve our clients as efficiently and effectively as possible,” said Scott Shelton, managing/administrative partner of the firm’s Orlando office, in a prepared statement.

CBRE Senior Vice President Mike Phipps represented the tenant in the lease negotiations, while Paul DeSario, general property manager with Hines Interests, worked on behalf of the landlord, Mikeone EK Maitland Summit LLC.

“This expansion speaks for the firm’s success and underlines its growth plan. Maitland Center is a great submarket for professional services firms and we were able to find the perfect space in a building with other well-known tenants such as Staples and FedEx,” added Phipps.

Another recent build-to-suit lease was completed at the Infinity Park mixed-use business park in Orlando with Orange Lake Resorts, marking one of the county’s largest office transactions year-to-date.
