Ockerbloom to Lead Jefferies’ Real Estate Investment Banking Unit

Securities and investment banking firm Jefferies & Co. has added real estate finance veteran John Ockerbloom to its leadership team.

Global securities and investment banking firm Jefferies & Co. has added a new name to its leadership team. Real estate finance veteran John Ockerbloom has joined the New York City-based firm as a managing director and U.S. head of real estate investment banking.

Ockerbloom, who comes to Jefferies from Morgan Keegan where he was head of real estate and lodging investment banking, has spent 13 years in real estate investment banking. He practiced real estate and securities law at Sherburne, Powers & Needham for six years before making the move to Bank of America, where he spent nine years and rose to the position of managing director in the real estate investment banking. Afterwards he served for three years as a managing director at Wachovia Securities; real estate investment banking group.
