Hilton Worldwide recently announced that Chicago’s new LondonHouse hotel will join Curio – A Collection by Hilton, a global brand of distinctive four and five-star luxury hotels launched in June 2014.

Located at 360 N. Michigan Ave. in the historic London Guarantee Building, LondonHouse is scheduled to open in the summer of 2016 and feature 452 luxury hotel rooms. Designer Simeone Deary Group will strive to preserve the building’s 1920s feel, according to a news release.

“LondonHouse will embody all the hallmarks of what connects Curio – A Collection by Hilton, to the energy and pulse of local communities,” said Dianna Vaughan, global head at Curio – A Collection by Hilton. “With its rich history and combination of iconic 1920s architecture and its 21st Century Modernist glass tower addition in the heart of Chicago, LondonHouse will give curious travelers that authentic experience that has become synonymous with the Curio brand,” Vaughan added.

Oxford Capital Group, LLC purchased the London Guarantee Building from previous owner Crain Communications, Inc. in 2013. The Chicago-based company has undergone a massive renovation and redevelopment project at the property, which includes the addition of a 22-story glass tower designed by Goettsch Partners. The new tower will include the LondonHouse hotel main entrance and a gateway lobby, as well as approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space.

The London Guarantee Building is located in the Michigan-Wacker Historic District and is one of four buildings that anchor the Michigan Ave. Bridge, alongside the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower, and 333 N. Michigan Ave. The 23-story building completed in 1923 used to house the famous London House jazz nightclub and steakhouse on its first floor during the 1950s-1970s.
