InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to expand its Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand with the opening of Kimpton Frankfurt, a 155-key hotel in Germany. The property is set to open in 2023.

Located in Frankfurt, Europe’s largest financial hub, the new Kimpton-branded hotel is situated in the heart of the banking district, which features offices, residential and retail spaces. The building will be part of developer Groß & Partners’ Four Frankfurt mixed-use project—a major development highlighting innovative and sustainable design by UNStudio architects. Four Frankfurt will be home to 5,000 people for both business and residential purposes.

Kimpton Frankfurt will offer two large meeting rooms and an on-site fitness center, as well as a sky-bar and a restaurant on the roof terrace.

“Being one of Europe’s largest financial hubs, Frankfurt is a key location for us and this signing is a great milestone in Kimpton’s European expansion,” Kenneth Macpherson, CEO of Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa at IHG, said in a prepared statement. “Guests staying at Kimpton Frankfurt can expect Kimpton’s signature bold and playful design, luxury, personalized service and truly local feel.”

Back in May 2017, Kimpton made its debut in Europe with the opening of a 274-key hotel in Amsterdam. The company plans to continue to expand its brand in other markets such as Tokyo, Taipei, Bali, Shanghai and Sanya.
