Gilbane Building Co. opened a new office at 100 South Ashley Drive, a Class A office tower in downtown Tampa, Fla. Tim Hensey, vice president of Gilbane’s Southwest Florida region, will lead the new Tampa office. This marks Gilbane’s seventh office in Florida, joining the company’s Sarasota, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, Gainsville and Jupiter, Fla. locations.

The 387,000-square-foot office building, also known as Wells Fargo Center, is LEED Gold-certified and underwent a multi-million-dollar improvement program in 2013, according to Yardi Matrix data and the property’s website. The new office provides Gilbane additional opportunities in high-growth markets such as higher education, healthcare, corporate office and hospitality. The location allows the company to better serve clients and partners, and deliver quality projects through innovative solutions and lean construction.

Gilbane Building Co., a global leader in construction services, joins notable tenants such as Wells Fargo & Co., Phelps Dunbar and UBS. Located at the southeast corner of Whiting Street and South Ashley Drive in Tampa’s CBD, the 22-story property provides access to the Selmon Expressway, I-275 and Kennedy Boulevard.

“This is a key strategic initiative in growing our footprint in southwest Florida,” said Hensey, in a prepared statement. “This new office space will increase our visibility in the downtown Tampa marketplace,” he added.
