Sao Paulo—Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announced the opening of Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto, marking the brand’s debut in Brazil.

“The opening of the first Hyatt Place hotel in Brazil is a milestone for the company as we continue to focus on the development of the Hyatt Place brand across Latin America,” said Luciano Julio, regional director of Latin American operations for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, in a prepared statement.

Located at 5000/C Bairro Iguatemi, the 152-key hotel offers a plethora of amenities including three meeting rooms, a fitness center and public computers with remote printing throughout the building. In addition, the location offers convenient access to an abundance of tourist attractions including América Futebol Clube and Museu de Arte Naif, located less than 10 minutes away.

“São José do Rio Preto is nationally recognized as one of the best cities for professional career development, and is also a service hub for several other cities in the region. The number of business and leisure travelers is consistently increasing so we hope Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto becomes their preferred hotel and we look forward to welcoming them,” added Julio.

Hyatt intends to develop several more destinations in Brazil through a joint venture with Elandis. Recently, the corporation’s global portfolio extended with openings in Australia and Croatia.
