Extra Space Storage Breaks Ground in NJ

Homestake Capital and Harvestate Group have started construction on a 595-unit self storage asset in Winslow, N.J. The facility is scheduled for completion by early 2020.

Homestake Capital and Harvestate Group have broken ground on a 66,300-rentable-square-foot Extra Space Storage facility in Winslow, N.J. ARCO Design/Build industrial is the general contractor managing the construction process of the development. The storage asset is expected to be opened by January 2020.

Located at 310 Sicklerville Road, the new development is situated alongside Freeway 42, within 24 miles of downtown Philadelphia. The facility will be easily accessible from nearby communities, such as Williamstown. Additionally, the storage is situated around 10 miles from Rowan University and roughly 9 miles from Camden County College. The new Extra Space Storage will comprise a total of 595 climate-controlled storage spaces, according to a statement by Winslow Township Mayor Barry Wright.

In June, Extra Space Storage has entered into a 25-year triple net lease agreement with W.P. Carey for 36 self storage properties across the U.S. The company’s stores encompass approximately 1.2 million units totaling 130 million square feet of rentable square feet.
