Everest Textile to Open First US Facility
The Taiwan-based company plans to invest $18.5 million over the next five years in a North Carolina manufacturing plant.

Forest City, N.C.—Everest Textile USA, a developer and supplier for various brands in sports, casual and other apparel, recently announced its plan to develop a 610-job manufacturing facility in Rutherford County, N.C. The company will invest $18.5 million over five years at a site in Forest City.
Located about 70 miles from Charlotte metro area, the new Everest Textile facility will take over an existing 400,000-square-foot building in Forest City to create the new plant, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. Employees there will weave, dye and finish the fabric.
“Everest positions itself as one of the leading global enterprises and commits to contribute to human society by providing innovative, environmentally friendly and comfortable textile products to the industry and consumers,” said Scott Chen, Everest Textile’s corporate vice president, in prepared remarks.
Everest’s arrival in the U.S. will be facilitated, in part, by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) approved by the state’s economic investment committee. The company is eligible to receive more than $3 million in total reimbursements. Payments will occur in annual installments over 12 years, pending verification by N.C. Commerce and N.C. Revenue that the company has met incremental job creation and investment targets.
Currently, Everest has factories in Taiwan, China and Thailand. The Rutherford County plant will be its first outside Asia.
