CyrusOne, TechnoCycle to Build Facilities in San Antonio

At the end of last year, CyrusOne announced plans to build a data center in San Antonio, completing the company’s expansion plans to develop data centers in four major Texas cities. The company–which already owns facilities in Houston, Dallas and Austin–is developing the 55,000-square-foot data center on 10 acres of land in the Westover Hills business park.

The facility, which is currently under construction, is planned for completion in the second quarter of 2012. When completed, the facility will be one of the most advanced data centers in the San Antonio area, able to offer customers 20 megawatts of power.

The data center will feature 55,000 square feet of raised floor space and 30,000 square feet of Class A office space available for tenants, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.

In other real estate news, Houston-based TechoCycle announced plans to build a 30,000-square-foot facility in San Antonio. The new facility is set to provide the highest standard of secure and responsible disposal of electronic waste, such as data erasure and shredding, a company news release reported.

By expanding to San Antonio, the company will be able to serve San Antonio and Austin, as well as Bexar County and surrounding areas. The new San Antonio facility will be similar to the one developed in Houston. According to its news release, the company is among the first in its industry to offer the new mobile E-Shredder to the Texas market in order to meet its clients’ needs.
