Compass Self Storage Buys Fifth Greater Nashville Facility

The company has expanded to five Nashville area locations with the acquisition of a new self-storage center in Shelbyville, Tenn.

Shelbyville, Tenn.–Compass Self Storage, a member of the Amsdell family of companies, has acquired its fifth self-storage center in the greater Nashville area.

Located at 1703 Green Lane in Shelbyville, Tenn., the facility offers more than 98,000 net rentable square feet and features climate controlled and drive-up units, electronic access, online payments, covered and open air RV and boat storage, truck rental and a full line of moving and packing supplies. Furthermore, this Compass Self Storage location will offer a smart phone app that will allow customers remote gate access via their phone.

“We are excited about the acquisition of this self storage center as it will allow us to further expand our service area in the Nashville market. We will offer a convenient, one-stop shop for the moving and storage needs of the residents and businesses in this area,” stated Todd Amsdell, president.

Earlier this year, Compass Self Storage entered the Nashville market with the acquisition of four self-storage centers totaling 212,000 net rentable square feet. The company also entered Massachusetts and expanded in Philadelphia with the acquisition of its third location.

Compass now operates 69 self-storage facilities nationwide and plans to continue the acquisition of quality storage properties in select markets.
