Prologis, Inc. has signed a new build-to-suit agreement with SpeedFC, Inc., a Dallas-based subsidiary of Navarre, for a 770,000-square-foot distribution center in Etna, Ohio. The San Francisco-based global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate made the announcement on Monday, March 25.

A Champion-sponsored affiliate purchased Caleb’s Creek Apartments, a 108-unit apartment complex in Westerville, Ohio. The price of the transaction has not yet been disclosed.

Welsh Buys 2 Warehouses in Groveport, Obetz as Part of $100M, 2.7 MSF Deal

Minnesota-based Welsh Property Trust has purchased two industrial properties in central Ohio. They are both part of the Core Midwest Distribution Portfolio, a five-building portfolio acquired by Welsh Property Trust for $99.5 million. The other buildings are located in Chicago, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.

Market Uptick Prompts Plans to Build 2 Hotels on Olentangy Rd.

Hotel occupancy in the Midwest continues to recover from the low levels of the recession. In Ohio it rose to 56.5 percent, according to Marcus&Millichap. The increase is a result of a decline in available rooms.

CMA Plans Spring Launch for $38M Final Phase of Renovation

The Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) is ready to start work on the last phase of its three-part Art Matters renovation and expansion project. Fairfield Medical Center Plans $35M Expansion in Lancaster

The Fairfield Medical Center has announced last week it will invest $35 million in renovations and expansions at its main campus on 401 N. Ewing Street in Lancaster, Ohio. The Fairfield Medical Center Board of Directors has already approved the plan at its regular board meeting on December 12. Plans call for the construction of a new surgery space between the main hospital and its surgery pavilion, connecting them. The addition will allow for the creation of centralized surgery operations for most services.

Simon/Tanger JV Plans 350 KSF Mall in Delaware County

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group (NYSE:SPG), the nation’s largest shopping mall operator and the largest real estate company in the world, has recently formed a joint venture with Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. (NYSE:SKT) of Greensboro, North Carolina to build two upscale outlet centers of equal size in Columbus, Ohio and Charlotte, North Carolina. Both parties would hold a 50% stake in the two centers.
