Chiesi USA Relocates to New NC Headquarters
The pharmaceutical company collaborated with Gensler in shaping its new corporate office at the recently completed Regency Woods II in Cary.

Chiesi USA, an R&D-focused pharmaceutical company, has moved into its new headquarters at Regency Woods II, a 150,000-square-foot office building in Cary, N.C. The anchor tenant occupies the top two—fifth and sixth—floors of the recently completed property.
Taking up some 50,000 square feet, the Cary-based company consolidated approximately 135 employees at the six-story building, located at 100 Regency Woods Place. The Spectrum Cos. broke ground on the development in fall 2017, with the asset being the first project on the 17-acre Regency Woods II site adjacent to housing, hotels and retail venues. Black Veatch, an engineering and construction company specialized in infrastructure development, also anchors Regency Woods II.
According to Yardi Matrix, U.S. Bank provided $27 million in construction financing in October 2017. The property is proposed for LEED certification.
Focusing on interaction
Chiesi USA hired Gensler to design the new office space, which features abundant natural light, open central offices, woven wood ceilings and large-scale branded murals. Aimed at encouraging collaboration and interaction between departments, the design includes communal spaces and a large café area which joins the two floors with an interconnecting staircase.
“We approached every decision with a focus on elevating our employees’ work experience and keeping our corporate commitment to sustainability, so that where we work is a true reflection of who we are,” Amy Diebler, Chiesi USA vice president of finance & chief financial officer, said in prepared remarks.
Regency Woods II overlooks Symphony Lake and provides tenants with access to an outdoor patio, surrounding trails, the Koka Booth Amphitheatre situated across the lake and a parking ratio of 4.75 per 1,000 square feet. The amphitheater hosts community events, live music festivals and the NC Symphony Summerfest Series. The location affords easy access to interstates 440 and 540, U.S. Route 64, RDU International Airport and Research Triangle Park.
