Toll Brothers, Ares Break Ground on Upscale Student Housing Community

Toll Brothers Campus Living, a subsidiary of Toll Brothers, Inc., together with its joint venture partner, Ares Management, L.P., broke ground last week on a new, upscale student housing community in College Park. Called Terrapin Row, it will serve the students of the University of Maryland.

Whole Foods Market is expanding in downtown Baltimore. The supermarket chain recently announced it will relocate to 711 S. Central Avenue, where it will occupy almost 50,000 square feet of space, more than double the size of its current location.

A Greater Cleveland office complex changed hands last month. Luttner Real Estate Investment Services announced that Twinsburg’s Canyon Falls Corporate Center was acquired by an unnamed investment group from New York for $13.075 million.

JCR Buys Southern Maryland Shopping Center for $22M

JCR Companies continues to expand its D.C.-area portfolio of retail properties. Its latest acquisition is the Manokeek Village Shopping Center in Accokeek, Prince George’s County. The company paid $22 million to buy it from Klaff Realty.

Delancey Street Capital Buys Ridgely’s Delight Apartments for $3M

Delancey Street Capital has closed on its fifth deal in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The company, which recently moved its offices from Philadelphia to New York, has paid $2,958,000 to acquire Ridgely’s Delight Apartments. RD30, LLC was the seller.

Liberty Center Lands 2 Tenants

Liberty Center, the approximately $350 million mixed-use project currently under construction in Liberty Township has signed two more tenants. Flip Sid, a gourmet burger restaurant, and the Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant will now join other tenants such as Dillard’s, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Cobb CinéBistro, Brio Tuscan Grille, Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill and Pie & Pints.

Becknell Industrial Takes Serta Facility in Forest Park

Brennan Investment Group, LLC has recently announced the sale of a large industrial property in Forest Park, a suburb of Cincinnati. The Chicago-based company sold the warehouse building at 1680 Carillon Boulevard to Becknell Industrial, for $7.3 million.
