Apollo Bank Promotes Joaquin Medina to SVP

Joaquin Medina will lead the bank’s Branch Division and will be responsible for establishing sales and business development strategies that will help expand the bank's commercial deposit portfolio.

Apollo Bank, a locally owned and operated community bank based in Miami, recently promoted Joaquin Medina to senior vice president of client management. In this new role, Medina will serve as the primary leader for the bank’s deposit relationships and will focus on growth strategies.

Medina brings more than a decade of banking experience to this new position. He will lead the bank’s Branch Division and will be responsible for establishing sales and business development strategies meant to expand the company’s commercial deposit portfolio. In addition, Medina will work directly with lending teams on existing and prospective client opportunities, manage third-party partnerships, oversee the audit process and collaborate with compliance department heads.

Extensive industry background

Medina first joined Apollo Bank in 2011 upon the bank’s launch. He previously managed the bank’s Brickell location where he served as market team leader and was responsible for the overall performance of the company’s headquarters. Prior to joining Apollo Bank, Medina worked as vice president and managing director at TotalBank. As part of his background, he acquired extensive experience as a mortgage loan originator and financial service specialist at Regions Bank.

Medina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and banking from the Florida International University in Miami.
