After opening an 855,000-square-foot fulfilment center in North Haven, Conn., Amazon plans to open another 855,000-square-foot facility in Troutdale, Ore., to be developed by Trammel Crow Co. and Clarion Partners LLC. According to OregonLive, the $178.4 million project, will be the first of its kind in Oregon and will provide a much-needed economic boost for the eastern Multnomah County community.

“We are excited to bring our first fulfillment center to the state of Oregon, creating 1,500 full-time jobs in Troutdale,” Akash Chauhan, Amazon’s vice president of North America Operations, said in a statement. “Governor Brown, the city of Troutdale, and many others have been instrumental in our decision to locate the new fulfillment center in the area.”
