Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is expanding its presence in India with the signing of three new contracts for hotels in the Northern, Southern and Western parts of the country.

Radisson Blu Kochi Elamkulam is Carlson Rezidor’s first hotel in Kerala in Ernakulam. Scheduled to open in December 2015, this 150-key conversion is located in the southern state’s largest city of Kochi. The hotel is within easy reach of the city center and other attractions, and it is served by Kochi International Airport, National Highway 47, Ernakulum Railway Station and Edapally Railway Station. The owner of the property is Middle East Hotel Co. Private Ltd., which is an affiliate of Hampshire Hotels.

Radisson Resort Mahabaleshwar is a newly-built, 158-key hotel in Mahabaleshwar, a prominent leisure destination in India’s western region. Situated more than 4,700 square feet (1,438 meters) above sea level, in the Sahayadri region where the climate is mild year round, the hotel offers spectacular views of the Koyna River and the valley. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019, Radisson Resort Mahabaleshwar is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Pune and about four-and-a-half hours from Mumbai. The hotel provides convenient access to State Highway 72 and Satara Railway Station, and is also served by Pune International Airport and Mumbai International Airport. Phenomenal Industries Limited is the owner of the property, which will offer meeting space, open lawns, a spa, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road is another addition to Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s strong portfolio of 22 operational hotels in Delhi NCR. The newly-built, 119-key property is located in Gurgaon, which is home to a diverse mix of domestic and international firms, including 250 Fortune 500 companies. Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road is also close to major commercial and residential areas, a leisure hub, a sports hub, as well as an industrial hub. The hotel is easily accessible by major roadways serving Gurgaon and is served by Indira Gandhi International Airport. By the time it opens in the first quarter of 2018, Radisson Gurgaon Sohna Road will offer meeting space, spa facilities and an outdoor pool. The hotel is owned by X Nine Developers Pvt Ltd.

These latest additions to Carlson Rezidor’s pipeline in India reinforce the company’s long-established leadership position in the key market. At the moment, Carlson Rezidor has 71 hotels in operation and 41 under development. The projects are located across 45 Indian cities, including 14 state capitals.

“We have a strong and active development pipeline, with many of these projects already under construction. Our strategy to concurrently strengthen our presence in state capitals, as well as emerging secondary and tertiary cities, is delivering the robust growth that we anticipated. We are confident of achieving our goal of increasing our India portfolio to more than 170 hotels within the next five years,” Raj Rana, CEO, South Asia, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, said in a prepared statement.

Earlier this year, Carlson Rezidor signed Radisson Hosur, Radisson Dehradun and Radisson Goa Candolim in India, while Radisson Goa opened in Candolim.
