A joint venture of Patrinely Group, USAA Real Estate and CDC Houston has signed a long-term lease with 24 Hour Fitness to occupy approximately 38,000 square feet in one of Houston’s largest mixed-use projects under development—CityPlace at Springwoods Village.

Scheduled for completion in late 2019, the California-based international fitness center chain’s new club will be two stories high. Amenities are set to include a lap pool, fitness areas, group exercise rooms and locker rooms. Members will also have access to CityPlace trails and sidewalks to other buildings and campuses nearby.

An upcoming commercial urban center

CityPlace is a 60-acre, mixed-use development along the Grand Parkway corridor, near the ExxonMobil campus. Upon completion, the property will include 4 million square feet of Class A office space, 400,000 square feet of integrated retail space, a full-service Marriott hotel and luxury multifamily projects. Earlier this year, dine-in theatre Star Cinema Grill also signed a long-term lease in CityPlace.

“We are very pleased with the continued momentum of Springwoods Village as CityPlace becomes the new urban center in North Houston. By the end of this year, we will have more than 20,000 highly skilled, well-paid employees and residents in and around CityPlace, all of whom need and want access to quality retail amenities,” said Warren Wilson, executive vice president of CDC Houston, the master developer of Springwoods Village, in a prepared statement.

Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group, along with Nick Hernandez and Crystal Allen of Transwestern represented the landlord, while Jeff Hayes from New Quest Properties worked on behalf 24 Hour Fitness.
