Louisiana’s first WoodSpring Suites will feature 124 units and is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2016. Guest amenities such as free high-speed internet, guest laundry facilities and in-room kitchens in each guestroom are planned for the extended-stay hotel.

“As evidenced by their very successful portfolio of five hotels from Dallas to New Orleans, Karnail and Kanwarjit Singh are experienced hoteliers and the ideal partners to help us launch the WoodSpring Suites brand in Louisiana. Our highly efficient operating model and focus on the bottom line allow us to attract top developers such as the Singhs as WoodSpring Suites adds to its already robust development pipeline,” said in prepared remarks Ron Burgett, executive vice president of franchise development for WoodSpring Hotels.

WoodSpring Hotels expects to break ground on more than 30 additional properties over the next six months, after experiencing record growth in 2014. The brand plans to expand in major metropolitan markets such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Portland and Minneapolis through 2017.
