Wholesale Distributing Company Expands in Pflugerville, Texas
Republic National Distributing Co.’s relocation will bring 304 full-time jobs to the region and include a $27 million capital investment.
The Pflugerville City Council has approved a performance agreement between wine and spirits distributor Republic National Distributing Co. and the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. Through this contract, RNDC is relocating and expanding its Texas operations in a 250,000-square-foot facility located some 20 miles north of Austin, where it will employ 304 full-time workers.
RNDC has had its eyes set on the Austin area for two years now, attracted not only by the location itself but also by the area’s available workforce. The recent agreement enables it to occupy a 32-acre site located in Pflugerville on the south side of Pecan Street and west of State Highway 130.
As part of the 10-year Economic Development Performance Agreement, PCDC will provide an infrastructure grant not to exceed $500,000 to assist with the extension of Helios Way and the needed utilities to the site. In addition, PCDC will offer a $70,000 job grant per year, provided RNDC will relocate or hire 207 employees in the first year and 97 in the second.
To be eligible for the total $1.2 million incentive, RNDC must fulfill a $27 million capital investment in the first year, in addition to retaining the total 304 primary jobs established in the first two years. Moreover, the wholesale distributor must provide receipts proving the full cost of the Helios Way extension to be eligible for the infrastructure grant.
