WeWork Opens Miami Location
This is the company's first new coworking space in the city since 2019.

WeWork has opened a 45,000-square-foot coworking space at Pontegadea’s 1.2 million-square-foot Southeast Financial Center in Miami. This is the company’s first new location in the city since 2019.
Back then, WeWork committed to 89,300 square feet at the property, occupying four full floors. Last year, the location was listed in the firm’s schedule of assumed unexpired leases.
However, the company’s new footprint at Southeast Financial Center currently spans only two floors. The coworking space features several communal work areas, meeting rooms and private offices.
Other amenities include a parent’s room, wellness room, phone booths and EV charging stations. The company also redesigned the space from an enterprise setup to a coworking environment as part of its initiative to invest as much as $100 million in upgrading its global locations throughout 2025.
The largest office building in Florida
Designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill and completed in 1981, the property includes Florida’s largest and tallest office building. Southeast Financial Center consists of two buildings rising 55 and 15 stories, with floorplates averaging 23,000 square feet.
The tenant roster at the LEED Gold-certified high-rise includes Morgan Stanley, Rialto Capital and JLL, as well as several law firms, such as White & Case, Shutts & Bowen LLP and Winston & Strawn, according to CommercialEdge data. Southeast Financial Center has been under Ponte Gadea’s ownership since 2016, when the company acquired it from J.P. Morgan Asset Managemen, for $516.6 million.
WeWork, lately
WeWork has had a presence in Miami since 2015. The company’s space at Southeast Financial Center is its fifth location in the city, with the other four at Brickell City Center, Wynwood Garage, Giralda Palace and 2222 Ponce De Leon Blvd. The closest flex office to Southeast Financial Center is less than 1 mile away at Brickell City Center, where the company leases 78,562 square feet of coworking space.
As of February, the number of coworking locations across the nation had increased by 25 percent compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 7,814 spaces, a CommercialEdge office report shows.
The Southeast leads in both the number of locations, which totals 1,960 spaces, and square footage, which adds up to 33.3 million square feet. Nationally, total coworking space grew by 15.2 percent to 140.1 million square feet, accounting for 2.0 percent of all office space.
