Washington, D.C.’s efforts to become a more sustainable city are paying off. Recently, the District was recognized as the third most sustainable city in the United States, under the STAR Community Rating System.
Developers Break Ground on $189M Apollo Mixed-Use Project
Insight Property Group and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced on Wednesday, September 17, the start of construction for the Apollo, a mixed-use apartment project situated right in the heart of D.C.’s H Street NE corridor. At a cost of $189 million, the project is expected to be complete by early 2017.
DC’s 1800 K St. to Undergo $40M Trophy-Class Transformation
CBRE announced on Tuesday, September 16, that the office building at 1800 K Street NW will undergo a $40 million renovation. The project will turn the property into the District’s newest Trophy-class asset. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
Venable Pre-Leases 250 KSF in New Washington Office Building
In the first quarter of 2017, Venable L.L.C., a national law firm, will move its Washington, D.C., headquarters to a building under construction at 600 Massachusetts Ave., N.W.

Douglas Development plans to start work later this year on a 94,000 square-foot landmark office property at the corner of 10th Street and F Street. Although the developer did not disclose the cost of the project, it announced that delivery is expected in the summer of 2016.

Jeffrey Miller announced on Tuesday, September 2, that Roadside Development and Dantes Partners have been selected to develop 1336 8th St. NW, a vacant lot at the corner of 8th & O Streets. The project will continue the revitalization of the Shaw/Convention Center neighborhood.
