W Hotels Worldwide has made its entry into Russia with the opening of the W St. Petersburg.
Owned by Real Estate Development Ltd., the hotel offers 137 guest rooms, bar and rooftop lounge. It was designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel Partners.
According to W Hotels Worldwide and Le Meridien global brand leader Eva Ziegler, the debut marks a milestone of W’s global expansion this year after the opening of W London, W Taipei and the W Retreat and Spa Bali-Seminyak.
The hotel is located near the St. Isaac Cathedral, the Winter Palace and the Neva River. According to Starwood Hotels & Resorts Europe, Africa and the Middle East president Roeland Vos, the opening is an iconic addition to the brand’s global portfolio.
