Butler County registered an important economic win this month when Barclaycard US, selected Hamilton as the new home of its new customer contact center. Barclaycard, a credit card servicing division of Barclays Bank and the fastest-growing top 10 U.S. credit card issuer, will bring 1,500 new jobs to the region.

Barclaycard’s new center will be located in the Vora Technology Park, one of the largest tech parks in the Midwest. Spread over a 55-acre green campus, VTP consists of five Class A office buildings with a total of 365,000 square feet of space. The park was once home to Champion/International Paper and its 1,200-plus employees. VTP is now part of Vora Ventures, a worldwide portfolio of innovative information technology companies.

Vora Ventures’ founder, Mahendra Vora, purchased the campus in 2005 in partnership with Timothy Matthews. They made significant investments and turned VTP into a state-of-the-art tech park, with multiple data centers and an IT incubator as well as its Class A office space.

“Vora Technology Park is a great example of how long-term vision and investment in technology and infrastructure can help attract global companies such as Barclays,” said John Minor, president & chief investment officer of JobsOhio, in a statement.
