Turner Tapped for $31M Renovation of Portland’s PGE Park
The company will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a training facility, club seating with a full-service restaurant, grandstands with concessions, a roof structure to cover the stands and a new playing field.

Turner Construction Co. has been chosen by Peregrine Sports L.L.C. and the city of Portland to manage the $31 million renovation and expansion of the city’s PGE Park. The company will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a training facility, club seating with a full-service restaurant, grandstands with concessions, a roof structure to cover the stands and a new playing field.
Construction is already underway and is slated for completion in spring 2011.
Originally Multnomah Stadium, the park opened in 1926. Its last major renovation was in 2001, at which time the naming rights were purchased by Portland General Electric. The park is an outdoor multipurpose stadium which can be used for baseball, soccer and football. When it is completed, it will become home to the Portland Timbers Major League Soccer team.
Turner has previously built four Major League Soccer stadiums: Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Co.; Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City; Toyota Park in Chicago; and the new home of the Kansas City Wizards, which is currently under construction. During 2009, Turner completed $8.2 billion of construction.
