Timbers Resorts LLC is moving its corporate headquarters from Colorado to Winter Park, Fla., after signing a lease at the Seacoast Bank Building, a 47,852-square-foot office property at 1031 W. Morse Blvd.

The move, which will take effect in February, was made as the luxury developer continues to expand its portfolio on the East Coast. Additionally, Timbers Resorts is looking to expand within the state of Florida, Caribbean and European markets.

“We are very excited to join the Winter Park community,” Greg Spencer,” Timbers Resorts’ CEO, said in a prepared statement. “We feel that Florida provides a phenomenal platform for the Timbers Resorts brand and is a natural setting to launch new creative experiential vacation offerings. Moving our headquarters out of the Aspen area was a difficult decision, but we feel that Winter Park has a very similar spirit that our brand and employees will fit well within.”

Before deciding on Winter Park, the company was considering sites in Dallas, Denver and Atlanta as well. This move is expected to bring more than 80 jobs to the area.

According to Spencer, the community’s welcoming nature and unique character resonated perfectly with Timbers’ culture. Additionally, he was attracted to its location within the Orlando metro area, a national hospitality hub and prime destination for top industry professionals.

“Winter Park has that special character and feel that resonates for Timbers,” David Burden, Timbers Resorts’ executive chairman & founder, said. “Having the corporate office on the East Coast is essential as we see more and more opportunities along the Eastern Seaboard and into Europe.”

Sun shining on Orlando office market

In 2018, Orlando’s office market has shown big signs of improvement, with growth beyond its traditionally strong vacation and retirement sectors. According to a recent Yardi Matrix report, as economy has diversified, its 3.2 percent job growth year-over-year through June has ranked Orlando among the top metros in the country. The expanding job market has attracted healthy net migration, resulting in strong population gains.

Winter Park, centrally located in the burgeoning Orlando market, is a hot epicenter for business in the Southeast. Combined with its longstanding history as a resort destination, Timbers Resorts felt the city was an ideal location to fuel its future.

Spencer and his team worked closely with the Orlando Economic Partnership, the City of Winter Park, the City of Orlando, the Government of Orange County and Enterprise Florida as it looked for the perfect home.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for their true professionalism, their helpful nature and their welcoming hospitality,” Spencer said. “The overall Orlando community should be very proud that this world-class group of professionals is focused on providing job growth in their respective communities.”

Timbers Resorts will continue to maintain an office in Colorado as well as its satellite offices in Barcelona, Spain; Bluffton, S.C.; and Kauai, Hawaii.
