Thor Equities Appoints New Controller

Catalina Chew brings more than a decade of experience in financial operations and reporting of all commercial real estate product types.

After appointing Fess Wofse‘s chief financial officer, full-service real estate company Thor Equities has hired Catalina Chew as its newest controller. She will be leading a team that deals with fund preparation and review, but also property and management level accounting and reporting. Additionally, she will contribute to the firm’s new technology initiatives.

Extensive finance & accounting experience

Prior to joining Thor Equities, Chew served as an assistant controller at Berkshire Group for three years, where she oversaw and managed a billion-dollar portfolio. Before that, between 2008 and 2014, she was corporate controller at High Street Equity Advisors, where her responsibilities included treasury management, corporate operations, human resource management, accounting, auditing and reporting.

In previous roles, Chew has served as an accounting manager and treasurer for Northland Investment Corporation, where she oversaw treasury management, cash management and accounting operations for both residential and commercial properties. She also served as an associate at PricewaterhourseCoopers LLP between 2004 and 2006.

Chew holds a B.A. in Business Management from Fisher College. She was named “Woman of the Year” by the National Association of Professional Women in 2012 and 2013.
