The Vitamin Shoppe Relocates Back-Office Operations

The retailer of nutritional supplements leased 28,000 square feet of office space at a 260,000-square-foot office building in Secaucus, N.J.

The Vitamin Shoppe signed a 28,000-square-foot lease at a 260,000-square-foot office building in Secaucus, N.J. The retailer will relocate its back-office operations from North Bergen.

Located at 400 Plaza Drive, the four-story property was completed in 1984, and underwent cosmetic renovations in 2004 and 2017. According to Yardi Matrix data, Key Success acquired the LEED-certified building in 2015 from Hartz Mountain Industries for $30 million. The property is situated about two miles from Interstate 95 and offers convenient access to multiple bus stations, restaurants and hotels, including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings and Meadowlands River Inn.

CBRE’s Gregory Barkan and Remy deVarenne, along with The Vitamin Shoppe’s Laurence Elgart and Cole Schotz’s Jan Alan Lewis, negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield’s Curtis Foster and Jerry Shifrin represented the landlord. 

At the nearby 500 Plaza Drive, Quest Diagnostics recently signed a 130,200-square-foot, long-term lease to serve as its new headquarters.
