Headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., Advanced ICU Care also has care centers in New York City, Houston, Charleston, and Irvine. These locations offer similar conditions to the company’s new Hawaiian facility. According to company CEO Lou Silverman, “our new Honolulu operations center enables our continued access to established and qualified intensivists, as well as additional critical care trained clinical staff”.

Advanced ICU offers real-time connectivity to 65 client hospitals across 22 states, ensuring that roughly 55,000 patients are being provided with care. According to its statistics, the company worked to reduce ICU mortality rate among its client partners’ patients by about 34 percent last year. Its model managed to bring down the average stay of an ICU patient by one full day.

In 2012, a study conducted by Critical Care Medicine showed that as much as 39 percent of hospital costs were directed at critical care, and projected further increases. Specifically, the report estimated that the annual volume of funds directed towards ICU costs was set to grow by roughly 50 percent until 2023. Advanced ICU aims to make the process more efficient as costs continue to skyrocket in the United States.
