Team Gemini Breaks Ground on $420M Industrial/Research Project in Grove City
On Thursday, December 12, Team Gemini held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project at the intersection of Gateway West Drive and Haughn Road in Grove City. It was attended by company and government officials, as well as many others.

Team Gemini L.L.C. broke ground Dec. 12 on two industrial 
and research facilities that will rise on a 365-acre parcel in Grove City. The larger of the two, Gemini Synergy Center, will be a 343-acre industrial and research park featuring automated greenhouses, a digester, a fish farm, and manufacturing facilities powered by green energy produced from waste materials.
Also in the works is the Center of Resource Recovery and Recycling, which will be located on 22 acres near the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill. It will process municipal solid waste and convert it into a renewable energy source, and will also convert recycled waste into materials with commercial and industrial value. COR is expected to be finished in two years, with the entire project targeted for completion by 2017.
Team Gemini’s partners include SWACO, Grove City, Columbus 2020 and Colliers International. Project consultants include Manhattan Construction, E.P. Ferris and Associates, Baker Barrios Architects, Estrada Hinojosa Investment Bankers, and Haughn & Associates, Inc. The City of Columbus and Franklin County have also supported the project.
In January, the developers announced that the privately financed project will cost about $300 million. However, The Columbus Business First reports the estimate has now grown by about one third, to $420 million. In total, 560 permanent jobs will be created.
