Strive Logistics Relocates Chicago HQ to NEWCITY

1457 N. Halsted St., Chicago

Strive Logistics has leased 20,033 square feet at 1457 N. Halsted Ave., Bucksbaum’s NEWCITY center. As the transportation service company plans to increase its headcount, it needed a larger space for its headquarters, currently located at 3008 N. Lincoln Ave. A team of CBRE brokers represented both the tenant and the landlord in the transaction. The move will take place in November 2018.

“The new space will allow for a much more effective and efficient workplace and the NEWCITY development will provide our employees with arguably the best location and amenities in the city,” Jon Provus, president of Strive Logistics, said in a prepared statement.

The property encompasses 363,000 square feet of retail space, a 14-screen ArcLight Cinemas, an office component and three levels of parking. Right above is The Residences at NewCity, a 199-unit luxury high-rise which Structured Development delivered in 2015, according to Yardi Matrix data.

LEED Gold standards

Located at the intersection of Clybourn and Halsted streets in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, NEWCITY is a transit-oriented live-play-work development home to retailers such as Apple, Sephora, Williams-Sonoma, Anthropologie and Whole Foods. The retail center achieved LEED Gold standards at the beginning of last year for having implemented several energy-efficient measures such as:

• a comprehensive waste disposal which recycles 75 percent of all waste
• use of environmentally-friendly construction materials created within 500 miles from the site
• a stormwater management system
• 83,000 square feet of green roof elements

CBRE Senior Vice President Kevin McLennan and Executive Vice President David Saad represented Strive in the deal, while Executive Scott Brandwein and Senior Associate Jake Ehrenberg worked on behalf of Bucksbaum.
