St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Announces Opening of $198M Center

Officials from ALSAC and St. Jude join supporters in celebration of the opening of the Kay Research and Care Center.

Nonprofit medical corporation St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital recently announced the opening of the Kay Research and Care Center.

The $198 million center will now house the Eric Trump Foundation Surgery and ICU Center; the Marlo Thomas Center for Global Education and Collaboration; and the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center, which is slated for a fall opening.

• The Eric Trump Foundation Surgery and ICU Center was made possible through a $20 million donation from The Eric Trump Foundation. The center, which was equipped with the latest in medical technology, doubled the hospital’s surgery space.
• The Marlo Thomas Center occupies the entire main floor and was designed as a “hub of learning and discovery” for doctors and scientists.
• The St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center is the result of a $25 million donation from Red Frog Events. It represents the world’s first pediatric proton therapy center.

In addition, one of the floors of the Kay Research and Care Center will be dedicated entirely to the computational biology department.
