Skanska USA Appoints New VP of Business Development

Skanska USA has hired Mandy Weitknecht as its vice president of Business Development for building operations in Central Florida. In her new role, Weitknecht will support business development activities and lead sales and marketing efforts in the region. 

In addition to business development and sales, Weitknecht will also facilitate project planning with building developers, owners and investors, providing timeline and cost forecasts, as well as recommending design professionals and turnkey services. 

Before coming to Skanska USA, Weitknecht was responsible for Florida business development efforts at HOK Inc. for eight years. Prior to that, she was a business development and marketing manager for a project management firm based in Orlando. 

“Mandy’s ability to bring teams together and her strengths in managing pursuit strategies make her an excellent addition to our Skanska Florida team,” said Michael Brown, executive vice president & general manager of Skanska Florida’s building operations, in a prepared statement. “Her expertise leading business development efforts and experience working in Florida’s key sectors, including health care, higher education, entertainment and government, make her a tremendous asset as we focus on growing our footprint in the Central Florida market.”

Weitknecht is currently pursuing her Master of Corporate Real Estate and is a LEED Green Associate certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. 

In May, Skanska USA made several promotions to its senior leadership team for the firm’s building operations. Chris Toher was promoted to chief operating officer and Jim Link, Len Ventrone and Kerim Evin took on the role of regional executive officers for the West, California and East, respectively.
